Green Flower
Artist Statement: When I took this photo I had asked my grandmother if we could pull over on the side of the road to take some good pictures of some very green scenery. This scenery was somewhere by scio church road. I drive past this area at least two times a week. While taking these photos I was trying to convey an average feeling of oneness and unity with nature. Although many people have taken pictures like these, I felt as though this picture was needed for me to feel how past and present photographers have felt. While taking these photos, there were actually quite a few power lines all over the place. Trying to change the camera angles in different ways was both a challenge and a triumph. The error I had while taking these photos was that there were lots of power lines in the area. Elvish Tree
Artist Statement: When I took these photos I was close to where I live. I was walking around the area when I saw this cool looking tree. It had lots of colors behind it and had sun hitting it from the right. These two aspects created a very interesting photo that I find to be very enjoyable to look at. When people are looking at this photo I hope that they get a feeling of joy, happiness, and a feeling of me being similar to other photographers. While taking this photo I didn't really have any errors. however, a triumph I had was that I was able to manipulate the angle of the photo to get the best and most beautiful outcome. Dead Hope
Artist Statement: While I was taking these photos, I was stopped on the side of the road by a dead field of corn. I always see many of these cornfields by were I live, and this time I had the chance to take a photo of it. These photos were taken a little off of the road and right net to the corn. While I was taking these photos someone had stopped their car and I felt as though they were staring at me. This gave me the sense that I had to hurry up. When people look at these photos, I hope that they get a feeling of the end of summer, switching into fall. I hope that the blue sky contrasting with the brown dead corn creates a nostalgic feeling of anticipation towards halloween. While I was taking these photos, I found that there were almost no angles were there were no power lines. This was a grave error. In the end, I "triumphed" by finding a couple angles and perspectives that had no power lines. Field of Imagination
Artist Statement: I took these photos while I was walking around a slightly abandoned plane area. I found this area to be more photogenic than the other areas. I had been to this area quite often before and decided that it would be a good place to go. The naturalness of the plants height and shape seemed to make me feel more submersed in nature than the other environments. With this photo, I hope to convey a feeling of natural "perfectness" within nature. When I took these photos an error/challenge I had was that I wasn't willing to go into the deepness of the brush due to the possibility of getting ticks. One triumph I had was that I was able to get a couple good photos without needing to go into the depth of the brush. Dark Oak Appreciation
Artist Statement: This photo was taken right where there were a few fallen trees. These fallen trees provided me with some interesting photos that created a feeling of remembrance for me. When taking these photos I discovered first hand how interesting getting so up close and personal with objects can be. When I put my camera right next to the log, I was able to get this very familiar blurring effect on the farther part of the log. When people are looking at this image, I want to convey a feeling of familiarity and inner-comfort. I want people to feel that they are able to find these things in everyday life and nature. i don't really feel like I had any real errors while taking this photo. However, one triumph I achieved was that I was able to create a blurred picture which I hadn't been able to do before. |
